The Unexpected Meeting with My First Love’s Wife..

When I was in school, I dated a boy named Mike. We were very close, but everything changed when my parents moved me to another city. At first, we stayed in touch through messages, but over time the conversations became less frequent until we eventually lost contact altogether.

Years later, I returned to my hometown for a visit. While catching up with an old friend, she casually asked if I wanted to see who Mike had married. Curious about what had become of my childhood sweetheart, I agreed without giving it much thought.

We went to a local grocery store where Mike’s wife was working at the cash register. As soon as she saw me, she stared for a moment and then asked, “Excuse me, aren’t you Olivia?” She explained that she recognized me immediately because Mike still kept many of my old photographs and an entire bag filled with the letters I had written him years ago. Feeling completely embarrassed, I quickly told her I was only passing through town and would be leaving soon.

She wished us goodbye, but I couldn’t help noticing the visible relief on her face. As I walked away, I realized that while Mike had moved on and built a new life, some memories from the past had clearly never been thrown away.
